We officially started our group in October 2013 in Regina, Saskatchewan. We have designed and built a modular framework that is used to allow members to have their own module(s) that can link together to form the overall RRMA layout.
The layout is fully DCC and sound capable using the Digitrax system. The RRMA owns the power system but members own and share all motive power and rolling stock for RRMA layouts.
The Association owns four corner and four straight modules.
We have displayed our modules four times at model railroad shows with our largest display being 40 feet by 12 feet in size.
Our group includes members with a wide range of experience and skills. Most have been modellers for many years in one form or another, each adding his own unique set of skills from customizing rolling stock to building structures to module construction to wiring. Several members have their own personal layouts.
Plus, we're also fascinated by real trains (1:1 scale)!
The current President is Tom Mulligan; the Secretary is Corie Knutt and the Treasurer is David Onodera.
